B&B Italia Camaleonda, a modular sofa that fits any environment, designed by Mario Bellini in 1970 and reissued and updated in 2020. Camaleonda retains all the elements that have made it a timeless contemporary classic, with its modular design and infinite configuration possibilities, a series of independent blocks that can be combined in various configurations to adapt to different spaces and needs.
Introduced to the public in 1970, the Camaleonda sofa has been a protagonist of design history for 5 decades, defining the aesthetics of interior design of an era, thanks to its great success with both the public and critics. In this reissue, Mario Bellini and B&B Italia have chosen to retain the 90x90 cm seating module, as well as the measurements of the backrest and armrest, which remain faithful to the original design, including the recovered templates for the upholstery cutting.
Also unchanged is the comfortable padding, the generous polyurethane padding which, thanks to the studs, forms the characteristic capitonné. The modular block system allows seats and poufs to be unhooked from each other; freed from the classic form, they can be rearranged at will, allowing the sofa to adapt to the taste and dynamic needs of the user. An essential characteristic of Camaleonda is its almost infinite modularity, a geometric nature that allows each element to become a sort of giant pixel through which to define one's domestic environment. By hooking and unhooking the seats, backrests, and armrests, one can indulge in changing their mind as many times as desired, moving and redesigning the space.

The upholstery has been thoroughly rethought by B&B Italia's Research & Development Center to make this sofa even more comfortable than the original. Camaleonda confirms the magical balance between the rigorous geometry of the square and the welcoming roundness of the padding, further emphasizing the elasticity, design, and ergonomics of Mario Bellini's projects. Camaleonda can be upholstered using the entire range of B&B Italia fabrics and leathers; to capture the mood of the original model, the Enia fabric from 1970 has been specially recreated in 5 color tones, providing an additional variable to the myriad of combinations.
